German Army Signals Officer Visor Cap
Item: GM362

Original WWII German army signal officer visor cap.  High quality, field-grey wool construction visor cap by Erel.  Body of the cap retains a beautiful sloped peak.  Very nice form.  Wool is in good condition with some light moth tracking.  Cap is a "Standard" model by Erel.  It has a green woolen center band and is piped with lemon yellow wool waffenfarbe. This cap features a silver washed, die stamped, eagle and cockade.  Additionally, the cap has a twisted silvered chin cord held in place by two small silver washed, pebble grain buttons. The vulcanfibre visor has a black exterior and under side.  Exterior has an impression from the chin cord imbedded into it along the top edge.  Additionally, there is a small chip missing from the outer edge of the visor.  Cap has a full liner in golden yellow.  Leather sweatband is well marked and complete.  It has come loose in spots along the visor, but still sits tightly in place.    Sweat shield is complete.  One side was re-stitched by hand and there is a crack near top center.  Cap size is not indicated, but seems to be about a 7.  A very fine example.
